2nd Annual Birthday Interview

I got this idea from our friend Joanna, who interviews her son on his birthday every year.

What is your favorite food?
Those Chinese ball thingies at that restaurant. Yummmmmmmm.

Do you know what those are made of? Shrimp and tofu.
I don't believe you. What's the next question?

What's your favorite color?
I have three: black, pink, and red.

Isn't it unusual for a 6-year old girl to pick black?
No. I like it because it helps me fall asleep. [Not to mention its the favorite color of her alpha girl friend Gina.]

What's your favorite holiday?
Halloween. The trick or treating - you get candy. And sometimes chocolate eyeballs.

What's the difference between being 5 and 6?
When you're 6 you're older, Mommy! [She apparently was in a literal mood.]

What was your favorite part of kindergarten?
You get to go on field trips. My favorite was Home Depot. And the zoo.

What's your best subject in school?
Spelling and math.

What's the hardest word you can spell?
Discover. D-O-S-C-U-V-E-R. Is that right?

Pretty close. Who's your best friend?
I have three. Ellie, Christine, Ethan, and Gina. [Yes, that's 4. Spelling and math?]

What's your favorite book?
Jack and Annie! [The Magic Tree House series, which we read and listen to on CD endlessly. Although the Boxcar Kids are number two with a bullet.]

If you were magic what would you do?
Watch TV.

You don't have to be magic to watch TV. What else?
Make food out of nothing.

What are your favorite sports?
Soccer! Swimming! Golf! Boxing!

When have you ever boxed??
On Wii Mommy! I really, really want a Wii.

What's your favorite word?
E-L-L-I-E. and L-O-V-E.

What's your least favorite word?
H-A-T-E. And N-O-T-H-I-N-G. [My budding existentialist.]

What was the worst thing that happened when you were 5?
I know. When I was asleep and got a bloody nose. No. Oh man, I was 4 when that happened.

Didn't that also happen a couple of days ago?
Yes, but I was half-awake. Oh, I got stung by a bee! [That happened Thursday, fresh in her mind.]

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Doctor or firefighter. No, the gummi factory, I still want to do that.

What's the biggest problem in the world today?
When you have 2,000 earthquakes in one minute? Oh, no, oil spill. It kills birds.

Give me three words or phrases to describe Daddy.
Funny. Brown hair. His hands are shaky.

Give me three words or phrases that describe me.
Funny. Nice. Beige skin.

Who's funnier, Mommy or Daddy?
Exactly the same.

What's your best joke?
Knock Knock.
Who's there?
Eileen.
Eileen Who?
Eileen over to tie my shoe!

Last year's interview is posted here.

I love these interviews. 2000 earthquakes in a minute sounds pretty terrible!
