Beach Day 7

Final full day at the beach and couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. We spent most of the day at the ocean.

Waiting for Mom and Dad to get ready for the beach.
Water was still cold!

And crazy full of jellyfish. Lots of poking with sticks.

Lily and her new friend Dylan collected hundreds of jellyfish.

Ooops.

Photographic proof Michael went boogie boarding.

Lily got really good at sand castles. (Nah, it was the grown ups next to us.)

Look what Lily wrote in the sand.

Getting ready for our last dinner now. Back to the Bad Bean for shrimp quesadillas, and, of course, ice cream.

Things I haven't touched all week: blowdryer, flat iron, hairbrush (in retrospect not so smart), high heels, blackberry (well, not during daylight hours), all the healthy food I brought ...

Beach Day 5

Nice and lazy.

We bought a boogie board. Actually, we bought two - promptly lost the first one - did we leave it on the roof of the car?

View from our umbrella.

Beach Day 4

Mike and Lily up early to walk Baci on the beach, Lee and I slept in. Then back to the ocean for the morning, lunch at home, and afternoon naps. While everyone slept I went to the fitness center and for a long bike ride. Afternoon/evening plans: swimming pool, then back to the Bad Bean for fish tacos and that great $6.99 margarita.

On the trolley to the beach.

Wave jumping.

Hot.

An elaborate sandcastle. The parking lot and apartments for the castle workers are in the foreground.

Beach Day 3

Today: ocean, pizza for lunch overlooking the sound, ice cream and sno-cones, 2 hour naps (for the grown ups), 2 hours of tv (for Lily), swimming pool, bicycling, ice cream (yes, for the 2nd time in one day - it's vacation).

Lil did a great job on her new birthday bike.

Ahhhhhh

At the beach! The rental is nicer than our house:

Views of both the sound and the ocean.

Yesterday: Long drive (2 1/2 hours to go the last 14 miles), swimming pool, ice cream, beer.

Today: ocean (Lily got stung by a jellyfish), sitting on the porch, getting the wireless fixed, swimming pool, fitness center, Bad Bean for dinner and the best margarita I've ever had. And ice cream.

Scene at an Italian Restaurant

Lee and I went out for dinner last night to a new wood-oven Neopolitan pizza place in town. At one point during dinner the hostess walked by. We simultaneously said:

Lee: Is she pregnant?
Deb: Is she a man?

Which set us off on a giggle fit of epic proportions. When we finally calmed down, Lee said "I think she's too old to be pregnant."

Which set us off again.

We left a big tip.
